Lily, abandoned in Ethiopia as a child, is raised by a caring Muslim family and becomes a humanitarian doctor. When civil war forces her to flee to England, she struggles with cultural displacement and prejudice. Seeking a sense of community, she finds purpose working at an orphanage and becomes drawn to a passionate doctor. However, political tension, traumatic memories, and her complex past begin to surface, challenging her understanding of home and belonging. Through loss and renewal, Lily must embrace her multicultural identity to find acceptance and healing.
